(research.) Singapore is an island, a city, and a nation all in one. It’s at the southern end of the Malaysian peninsula, and there’s a railroad that crosses a bridge from the north to the port on the far south of the island – a 15-mile journey. No longer needed for freight, the “Rail Corridor” has been abandoned since 2011 and the Urban Redevelopment Authority is looking to reclaim it as land for development, a social infrastructure, a platform for shared community experiences, and a corridor for nature that supports mental health, habitat, and biodiversity. >> Ryan Gravel
