WABE > “If you look up on the horizon, the change that is coming is a tsunami.”

(press.) I had another chance to talk to WABE’s Rose Scott and Jim Burress on A Closer Look about Atlanta’s population growth and its role in our affordability crisis. “BeltLine Visionary: Affordable Housing Issue Is A Tsunami.”

Excerpt: (Gravel speaking) “We’re all getting worried about this change that we see coming, but if you look up on the horizon, the change that is coming is a tsunami, and it’s frightening. And if we don’t match that with an order-of-magnitude kind of shift in the way that we see the world and the things that value and where we put our investments and how we support people, you know, we’re not going to be able to live here. And you know, Atlanta’s behind the curve, but when you look at cities like San Francisco and New York, I mean, that’s the kind affordability challenges they’re facing, that’s what this is going to be.”  >> More.
