(research.)  I’ve been to Austin a few times in the last year or so, and I love exploring the trails around Lady Bird Lake. The coolest part of the 10-mile loop is the Boardwalk, which just opened last summer. So when I was there in September I got a bike from the city’s bikeshare and took an early morning ride down the hill from East Austin. Because of some ornery property owners and the complexity of a highway overpass, the last 1.2 miles of the trail was built out over the water.
